Red Wine Qimerioni Kindzmarauli 2019
Red Wine Qimerioni Mukuzani 2019. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Located in the Chumlakhi village in the historic wine region of Kakheti, Qimerioni owes its name to the homonymous art café founded in 1919 in Tbilisi. The winery produces natural wines from native Georgian grapes with ancient traditional methods such as the use of Qvevri, the typical Georgian amphorae used for the fermentation and aging of wines. The location of the vineyards in the fertile valley of the Alazani River and the protection of the Caucasus Mountains create the perfect climate for the production of high quality wines. Mukuzani is a dry red wine produced in the specific homonymous area of the Kakheti region from the indigenous Georgian Saperavi grape. It is characterized by being fermented until the sugars are completely transformed and for being aged in oak barrels for long periods. The wine has a deep and dark pomegranate color. The nose is concentrated with cherries, plums, and other red berries. In the mouth, it is dense and moderately tart, with soft tannins, and a good body. On the finish, the plum aromas come back. It is elegant and balanced and works extremely well with grilled meat or aged cheese.

Red Wine Qimerioni Saperavi Qvevri 2019. It may benefit from decanting. Located in the fertile valley of the Alazani River in the historic wine region of Kakheti, Georgia, the Qimerioni winery was founded in 2011. The company name derives from the historic art café founded in Tbilisi in 1919 by a group of famous Georgian poets and artists for community events including poetry readings, exhibitions, and art performances. Qimerioni cultivates several local grape varieties and produces natural wine of the highest quality using traditional Georgian methods. The vines enjoy a perfect climate for winemaking, thanks to the presence to the south of the Alazani River and the Caucasus Mountains in the distance. Saperavi is an ancient Georgian grape variety that lends itself to the production of almost all types of wine: dry, semi-dry, and semi-sweet. For its exceptional organoleptic characteristics, deep color, full body and intense aroma, Saperavi is similar to Cabernet Sauvignon. It is an extremely versatile grape: it is produced in stainless steel or in traditional Georgian clay pots and some producers are experimenting with oak barrels as well. The wine is rich, with an intense aroma of juicy cherry, red currant, vanilla, chili, and cocoa. In the mouth, it is very consistent, fresh and lively, full-bodied and perfectly harmonious. Try it with grilled meats and rich vegetarian dishes.
