Red Wine Les Vins de Vienne Cornas Les Barcillants 2020. It is recommended to decant it half an hour before serving. Pierre Gaillard, François Villard, and Yves Cuilleron are three renowned winemakers and longtime friends, who came together in 1996 to put their experience to the benefit of the potential of Rhone Valley wines. They created a trend of rebirth in the Rhone Valley but, above all, they revitalized a historic vineyard, described by Pliny the Elder, and planted in Seyssuel on the opposite bank of the Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu appellations. This cuvée comes from 1.5 hectares of vineyards planted in Syrah in the localities of Saint-Pierre, Rouvenne and Barjasse, in the Cornas appellation. The manual harvest is followed by partial de-stemming and fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine is then left to rest for 16 months in French oak barrels. The Cornas Les Barcillants is a complex, tannic and lively red wine with a powerful taste and an intense and deep color. The nose displays a generous and fragrant bouquet with notes of cocoa, mocha, and blackcurrant. On the palate, it is rich and soft with good persistence. It goes deliciously with red meats, game, and aged cheeses. Absolutely to try with venison filet and grilled red meats.

Red Wine Les Vins de Vienne Cote Rotie Le Plomb 2020. It is recommended to decant for half an hour before serving. The Domaine Les Vins de Vienne has 11 hectares on the slopes of Vienne, most of which are planted with the Syrah grape, and a small part planted with the Viognier grape. The key words of the philosophy of this winery are sustainable viticulture, in respect of the environment, controlled yields, and harvest at optimal ripeness. La Cote Rotie Lieu-Dit Le Plomb is a micro cuvée of 100% Syrah grapes coming from a plot located in the far north of the Côte-Rôtie appellation, facing south and on soils composed mainly of schists. In this area, the summers are particularly dry, and the vine suffers. The summer drought forces the plants to absorb the water in-depth, also bringing back the minerals from the subsoil. The result is a red wine with character that is then aged for 16 months in oak barrels to soften the more angular features and give it softness. It is a wine with a firm personality that strongly expresses the terroir and the typical characteristics of the Syrah grape. The aromas are well marked on black fruits, the body is full and the tannins are smooth and elegant. The aftertaste is long and quite spicy. This great red wine is ideal with savory meats served with mushroom sauce, roast beef, or a filet mignon, for example.

Red Wine Les Vins de Vienne Sotanum 2020. It is recommended to decant it an hour before serving. The Vins de Vienne estate is the culmination of a great friendship between three winegrowers from the Northern Rhône Valley. Yves Cuilleron, François Villard, and Pierre Gaillard founded the estate in 1996 with the ambition of enhancing the left bank of the Rhône. For more than 20 years, the three men have been producing white and red cuvées that reflect the authenticity of this friendship and their passion for the vine. The wine range has been structured and apart from the 3 initial cuvées (Sotanum, Taburnum, and Heluicum), many locations have appeared in parcel selections, covering all the appellations of the northern Rhône, as well as 2 new ranges in collaboration with some producers selected for the quality of their work and compliance with rigorous regulations. The name Sotanum refers to the benefits of the drink once brewed on these hills. The cuvée comes from seven property plots located in the hills of Seyssuel. Sotanum is widely considered to be one of the most prestigious wines of the Rhone Valley. It is a full, silky, powerful red wine with delicate tannins and a harmonious structure. The nose offers sweet aromas of ripe berries and spices. The finish is incredibly long. Enjoy it with a Provençal stew, a lamb tagine with spices, or even a filet mignon. Red fruit condiments, and pepper sauces will highlight the beauty of this Syrah.
