Red Wine Koncho Kvareli 2019. It is recommended to decant it for an hour and half. Located in the Kakheti region of Georgia, close to the lush valley of the Alazani river, the Koncho & Co winery is part of the JSC Corporation Kindzmarauli and managed by the Konchoshvili family who has been in charge of it since the 19th century. The 30 hectares of vineyards benefit from a very favorable location, with a peculiar microclimate and soil made primarily of black schist which is particularly suitable for the production of high-quality wines. Saperavi grapes for the Koncho & Co Kvareli are selected and hand-picked from plants that have an average age of about 35 years in the Kvareli wine area, on black schist soil. After fermentation on the lees for 3 weeks, the wine is left to mature, once again on the lees, before being aged in barrique for 12 months. The wine displays a deep red color and fragrant aromas of wild berries, dried plum, and black currant followed by delicate notes of vanilla and cloves. The taste is full and complex and well balanced by a remarkable freshness. It is excellent with sheep or goat meat and aged cheeses.
