Red Wine Tua Rita Perlato del Bosco 2019. Decant 1 hour before serving. From humble beginnings in the 1980s, the Tua Rita estate has helped to put the charming hilltop town of Suvereto on the map for magnificent Super Tuscan wines. Owners Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti purchased the original property with just one hectare of vines and thanks to their vision the estate has flourished and its wines have won top scores from a slew of international wine critics. The Perlato del Bosco or Pearl of the Woods” is a single varietal Sangiovese which is fermented in traditional conical wooden vats known locally as tini”. The new wine is then aged in a combination of new and used oak barrels for 12 months before bottling. 100% Sangiovese wines are rare in this southern part of Tuscany and this plush, generous example offers incredible value for money. The nose offers delicate scents of forest fruits, baked earth, and sweet spices, while the first sip reveals a firm structure, gentle tannins, and an intensity of dark berries. This stunning flavour profile reminds of the finest Brunello di Montalcino given a rich southern twist with extra fruit and an opulent texture. This is a stunning wine to enjoy now alongside a prime steak or to hold in your cellar over the next decade or so as the wine continues to develop and evolve.

Red Wine Clavis Orea Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2019. Decant 1 hour before serving. With its first vintage in 2015 Clavis Orea is a relative newcomer in Saint Emilion, but the estate has already achieved international recognition. Named after the Latin word for golden key” which is a traditional symbol of the hospitality industry, the estate was founded by Franck Jugelmann and Lahcene Boutouba who have used their family backgrounds as restaurateurs to create a wine with perfect gastronomic poise. Jugelmann previously worked as a winemaker at Château Haut-Brion in the Médoc and the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé estate Château Fonplégade, and after a chance meeting with Boutouba the duo decided to rent 8 hectares of vines to create their own wines. Their signature style expresses the beauty of Saint Emilion’s Merlot along with a dash of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc as is traditional in the region. The young wine is aged in oak barrels and neutral vats to showcase the local terroir and typicity of the varieties. The result is an elegant and approachable Grand Cru which punches high above its pricetag thanks to the meticulous winemaking and precise structure and tannins which will help this bottling age gracefully over the next decade or so. Pair with hearty game or red meat dishes to match the intense dark fruit character and well-integrated oak influence.

Red Wine Hedges Family Red Mountain Blend 2019. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in the heart of Washington State’s Red Mountain AVA, Hedges Family Estate is an established family business considered among the most important in the area due to its pioneering role in the local wine industry. The Hedges Family Red Mountain Blend is a classic Bordeaux blend of 43% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Syrah, 4% Cabernet Franc, 7% Malbec, and 3% Petit Verdot, with very small additions of grapes of Portuguese origin such as Souzao, la Touriga, and the Tinta Cao. Grapes from the Hedges, Bel ‘Villa, Les Gosses Magdalena, and Jolet vineyards in the Red Mountain wine region are hand-picked and transported to the nearby winery. The final wine is aged for 21 months in new and used American (61%) and French (39%) oak barrels. Produced from biodynamic agriculture, the wine shows a deep ruby red color. The nose reveals intense aromas of dark fruit like cassis, blackberry, and plum followed by herbs, tobacco, coffee, and hints of cloves. On the palate, it is full-bodied, very warm, round, dry, savory, and with perfectly balanced tannins. It also shows a long and smooth finish. It is ready to be enjoyed now, but can also age well. It works well with duck or goose, as well as pungent Pecorino cheese, and mushrooms.
