Displaying dense, opaque purple in the glass, the aromas follow suite: cassis, blackberry, raisin. 18 months of new French oak aging imparts notes of coconut and cocoa. The palate is opulent and stout exhibiting black fruit preserves, prune, leather, olive and eucalyptus. Red Wine Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2018. Decant for up to an hour before serving. Kendall-Jackson is the original Jackson family winery, founded in 1982 by wine entrepreneur Jess Jackson and his wife, Barbara Banke. The original 80-acre plot of land in Lake County has grown into an international business, managed by Banke and other members of the Jackson family. Despite the immense success, Kendall-Jackson winery still produces the classic hits that Jess pioneered in the 1980s. The Grand Reserve range is typically composed of grapes grown at a higher elevation, in cool, coastal appellations. This blend is mostly composed of the Californian staple Cabernet Sauvignon but also features splashes of Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The fruits are sourced entirely from Sonoma County, from low-yielding vineyards. This blend is deeply expressive, offering black and blue berries on the nose and delicate hints of vanilla and sweet baking spices. It was aged for 15 months in oak barrels, and is medium to full-bodied, with a plump, round mouthfeel. Alongside the dominant flavours of forest fruits, notes of cedar, tobacco and dark chocolate appear, giving the wine warmth and depth. Consider pairing it with rich and hearty meals such as meat braised with red wine, or earthy mushroom dishes.

Red Wine Koncho Saperavi Premium 2018. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Located north of the Alazani River, 405 meters above sea level, in the Kakheti region of Georgia, the Koncho & Co winery is run by the Konchoshvili family. Their vineyards wind through the green valleys between the hills on both sides of the river in a spectacular landscape. The harvest is manual and carried out at different times between July and October to optimize the ripening of the grapes. The yields are kept low to achieve very high quality. The Saperavi Premium by Koncho & Co is produced with 100% Saperavi grapes from around 60-year-old vines, in the Khelilbardebi vineyard, in the traditional Kindzmarauli wine area. Here the forests of Kudigora and Sameba, together with a peculiar soil rich in black schist, create the ideal conditions to produce high-quality wines. The must is fermented in terracotta pots (Qvevri), left on the skins for 7 months, and then aged for 18 months in large wooden barrels. The aromatic profile of this wine is dominated by notes of berries, especially blackberry, accompanied by tones of vanilla and cloves. On the palate, the wine is harmonious and shows great concentration. It is a round and full-bodied wine with ripe tannins that goes perfectly with lamb or goat meat and aged sheep cheeses.
