Red Wine Kaesler Reach For The Sky Shiraz 2018. The oldest vines on the Kaesler estate were planted back in 1893 when the family first started farming their own vineyards here. Over the years the property has blossomed into one of the leading wineries in the Barossa Valley thanks to the hard work and dedication of the family. One of their key principles is the idea of regenerative agriculture which seeks to pass on the property to the next generation in even better condition than they found it. Kaesler is best known for its punchy Shiraz like this cuvee which is made in a juicy, opulent style with plenty of luscious dark fruit flavours. It’s vinified in a modern, clean style with fermentation in stainless steel tanks followed by ageing in new and used French oak barrels to soften the tannins and add extra complexity. Crushed cassis, blueberries, plums and subtle hints of licorice dominate on the nose, while the first sip reveals a smooth texture, robust tannins and a long finish peppered with spice and tobacco leaf. The easy-going nature of this Barossa Shiraz makes it ideal to serve alongside a family barbecue or with hearty dishes like ribs, sirloin steak, or simply a hearty winter stew.

Red Wine Kaesler Reach For The Sky Shiraz 2018
Red Wine Kaesler Stonehorse Shiraz 2018. The Kaeslers planted their first vines in the Barossa Valley in 1893, quickly growing their holdings to 96 acres of Shiraz, Mourvedre and Grenache vines. From the very beginning, the family have had their eye on the long-term which is why they practice regenerative agriculture, with each generation aiming to leave the land in better condition than they found it. This powerful cuvee is named after the mighty Clydesdale horses that the family historically used to plough the heavy clay soils in their vineyards before the age of the tractor. Fruit for this wine is sourced from a selection of 33 to 45 year old vineyards and vinified in the classic Kaesler style with plenty of ripe fruit flavours tamed by new and used French oak barrels. Enticing notes of wild berries, cherry and plum dominate on the nose, while the first sip reveals a robust full body, firm tannins and a well-built structure. The ample dark fruit notes and punchy profile makes this a great match for hearty red meat dishes such as a prime steak, beef stews, or game like venison and wild boar.

Red Wine Kaesler The Bogan Shiraz 2018. Originally settling in the Barossa Valley in the 1840s, the Kaesler family quickly became one of the region’s pioneering winemaking families. They planted their first vines here back in 1893 and to this day these ancient plants still form the backbone of many of their top cuvees. The current owners are passionate about the estate’s noble Barossa heritage, which is why they pursue a philosophy of regenerative agriculture which seeks to leave the land in optimal condition for future generations. The Bogan is a spectacular cuvee which previously won the title of Australia’s Best Shiraz at the Great Australian Shiraz Challenge. The fruit is sourced from two vineyards, one featuring centenarian vines planted in 1899 and the other dating back to 1965. The old vines produce tiny quantities of intensely-concentrated fruit while the younger vines add vigour and balance. The result is a classic full-throttled Shiraz that’s bursting with succulent cassis, blackberry and plum notes followed by undertones of cedar, spice, and heady woodsmoke from the oak ageing. The firm tannins and well-developed structure make this a great red to keep in the cellar for a few more years or to savour now alongside hearty red meat dishes.
